Everything You’ll Need to Know

When am I eligible to enroll in insurance benefits?

Full time new hires are eligible to enroll in insurance benefits after their first paycheck and before their deadline to enroll which is outlined on the Benefits Start Chart.

First day of coverage is the first of the month on or after 60 days of full-time employment. Refer to the Benefit Start Chart for enrollment dates and effective dates based on your FT start date.

The only other time employees can enroll in benefits is during the Open Enrollment period for the new year, which is typically in Oct/Nov, or if you have a Qualifying Life Event that would qualify for an insurance enrollment change.

Who do I contact when I have questions about 401(k)?

Transamerica is the 401(k) administrator for the American Senior Communities Retirement Savings Plan, 401(k).  You can contact Transamerica at 800-755-5801 or create/sign-in to your account at trsretire.com.

How do I pay for my benefit premiums while I am on leave of absence?

If you have questions about your benefit premiums while on leave you can refer to the “Important Information from American Senior Communities Relating to your Absence Request” flyer that was included in your Leave of Absence packet. You can also reach out to [email protected].

What is the difference between Time-Off and Leave of Absence?

Time off Work is typically PTO time-off, bereavement days or Jury Duty days.
Leave of Absence is FMLA leave or Medical Leave non-FMLA that is certified and approved as a leave of absence following the FMLA regulations for your own medical condition or that of a qualified family member.
