Qualifying Events

A qualifying event (sometimes referred to as a benefit life event) is an event that occurs in an individual’s life that allows them the opportunity to make changes to their Group Health selections (medical, dental, vision). These changes take place outside of new hire enrollment and open enrollment periods. There are strict guidelines regarding Qualifying Events. Qualifying events must be reported, and documentation received within 31 days of the effective date of the event.
